President Tinubu Adopts Governor Adeleke's Health Initiatives: Adds Elderly Retirees as Beneficiaries To FG Health Scheme. - Babarinde
Osogbo, August 7, 2025.
One of the Aides of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Hon. Funmiso Babarinde has commended the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking a bold step of ordering the inclusion of low-income Retirees as beneficiaries of a new health initiative of the federal government.
Babarinde made this assertion in Osogbo on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 in a chat with some journalists which was made available to the media.
According to Hon. Babarinde who said he was elated that the "President has once again shown that he is a leader who doesn't mind making use of the Governor Ademola Adeleke's health initiative in Osun which is being enjoyed in the last two years of his administration through Osun Health Insurance Scheme, OHIS, by the elderly people in the state especially from different strata of the society which includes the elderly, retirees, people living with disability with over 23,000 beneficiaries across the state" adding, "I just saw a caption by Mr. Bayo Onanuga where he wrote that "President Bola Ahmed Tinubu "Directs Expedited Rollout Of Free Healthcare For Low-Income Retirees, Implementation Of Pension Increase."
Babarinde said "this is pleasing to me and it shows that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu just need the right information about how the country's sub-national leaders (Governors, Ministers, LG Chairmen, Federal and State legislators are performing in their respective duty posts.
He also added that "it simply means the President is ready to adopt any good initiative by anybody irrespective of the political party or background such a performing person is coming from."
Babarinde gave kudos to Governor Ademola Adeleke for his proactive stance in the delivery of good governance especially in the health sector by taking it upon himself to renovate the Osun erstwhile abandoned Primary Healthcare Centres across Osun State to the WHO standard which earned the government of Osun State under Senator Ademola Adeleke a reward of $500,000 recently for being the best government in the country on Primary Healthcare Centre upgrade, beating Lagos State to it.
Hon. Babarinde therefore urged all Indigenes of the State to take a queue from the number one citizen of our country by rallying round Governor Ademola Adeleke's good initiatives in developing Osun which he said belongs to all of us, reminding them that they have no other state to go to than our dear State.
