Aare Asejere Mourns the Passing of Ila-born Political Sage, Elder Kolapo Lawal.

Osogbo, August 24, 2025.

The Chairman, Forum of Osun Commissioners, Honourable Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Osun State, Aare Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Elder Kolapo Lawal, a highly respected community leader, an astute politician and statesman from Ila-Orangun.

In his condolence message, Aare Asejere described the late Elder Kolapo Lawal as a man of uncommon integrity, courage, and dedication to the service of God and humanity. He noted that the deceased devoted his life to the progress of his community, the unity of Osun State, and the upliftment of society at large.

According to the Commissioner, the death of Elder Kolapo Lawal is not only a great loss to Ila-Orangun but also to Osun State and Nigeria, as his wisdom, guidance, and fatherly counsel will be greatly missed. He added that Elder Lawal’s legacy of service, humility, and commitment to community development will remain evergreen.

While commiserating with the immediate family of the deceased, the Ila-Orangun community, and the entire people of Osun State, Aare Asejere prayed to Almighty God to grant eternal rest to the departed elder and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
