Osun State Shines at Gateway Games 2024: As Governor Ademola Adeleke Was Extolled for Support.

The National Sports Festival, tagged Gateway Games 2024, has been concluded in Ogun State, with Osun State ranking among the top performers.

Despite not being among the top three, Osun State's 9th position finished with 13 gold, 3 silver, and 9 bronze medals is commendable.
Athletes and officials from Osun State have praised Governor Ademola Adeleke for his financial and moral support, which significantly boosted their morale and performance during the games. 

The Governor was represented at the closing ceremony by Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi.

The Final Medal Table ranked Delta State with 1st position followed by Edo State, 2nd position and the host State, Ogun State with 3rd position.
According to the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, who doubled as the Commissioner for Sport, "Osun State's 9th position finish is impressive, with an impressive haul of 13, 3 silver, and 9 bronze medals.

"This achievement," he said "further showcases the state's sporting prowess and highlights the effectiveness of Governor Ademola Adeleke's support for athletes."
Meanwhile,in a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, the Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun expressed his profound gratitude to President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government and fellow state governors for their invaluable support, which was instrumental in the successful hosting of the National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
He added that hosting the National Sports Festival allowed Ogun State to proudly display its vibrant culture and heritage.

In a goodwill message delivered on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio lauded the people and government of Ogun State for extending warm hospitality to participants during the two-week National Sports Festival.
The curtain closes on the 2024 edition, with Enugu State set to take the stage in 2026 as the next host of the National Sports Festival.
