Identified APC Killers must be Brought to Book for Wanton Killings: Osun demands Justice.

The people of Osun State, particularly, the Ijesa people have demanded, in strong terms, justice for their murdered citizens.

The call was made recently during the burial of one of the PDP members, Kasali Adebayo, who was allegedly gunned down by the Yes/No candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the dismissed inappropriately organized local government election of the year 2022.

The local government election was declared faulty by courts of competent jurisdiction and all those elected through it were sacked and dismissed as beneficiaries of a non-compliant election.

In the wake of the foregoing, Osun State Independent Electoral Commission went to work since 2024 giving the required 360 days notice as against the APC-led Administration of H.E. Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola which gave less that 60 day's notice and which printed Yes/No ballot papers, excluding names of political parties, including that of APC which the court pronounced as alien to our constitution and electoral act.

Rather than participating in the election, the APC went on rampage some few days to that election, killing and maiming innocent citizens of the State in a gestapo style by forcefully occupying the local government secretariats across all local governments of Osun State. 

Among those killed by the APC thugs was one Ismael Ibrahim who was buried in Tuesday while Kasali Adebayo was buried on Thursday, so also was Remi Lawal who was killed in Irewole local government and was also buried amid tears and wailings.

It will be recalled that one Alhaji Remi Lawal and some people were brutally murdered by this same APC thugs in Irewole and Boripe Local Government Areas before the murder of Hon. Kasali Adebayo in cold blood.

According to news monitored on Ait and Arise TV stations, a former Commissioner in Osun State and currently the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Asset recovery, Hon. Mrs. Fausat Sarumi Adebanjo claimed to have escaped the bullet of the shooter who was shooting sporadically into the crowd which eventually killed Kasali Adebayo and wounded many others who are lying critically in different hospitals in Osun State.

Also a former Commissioner in the Civil Service Commission in Osun State, Alhaji Jide Bakare also made frantic calls to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the President, Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to set up investigation into the wanton killings and make sure the already identified killers are summarily dealt with according to the laws of Nigeria.

The rate at which people have been murdered in Ijesa land particularly needs thorough investigation and should be laid to rest. 

According to information gathered Kasali Adebayo was allegedly gunned down by the yes or no candidate of APC in the August 2022 LG election, Tobi Famurewa and his thugs.

In another news, two people were gunned down in Boripe LG, the home local government of the former Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, one person was also said to have been shot in Ejigbo, so also one person fell in Olaoluwa Local Government while one person was also shot in Ilesa East. 

The spate of political killings by APC thugs, especially in Ilesa axis deserves to be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted to deter others from engaging in senseless and wanton killings.
