The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi, Ph.D, in a remarkable display of commitment to community development, donated four 500 KVA transformers to the residents of Oke Awo, Ikire, Odo Ori, Iwo Technical College, and Telemu in Ola-Oluwa Local Government. The donation aims to enhance the power supply in the area, alleviating challenges faced by residents due to frequent power outages.

Senator Oyewumi emphasized the importance of reliable electricity in driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for the community.

Senator Oyewumi stated, further "Access to stable electricity is fundamental to the development of any community. This gesture is a commitment to ensuring that the hardworking residents of Oke Awo, Ikire; Odo Ori; Iwo Technical College, Iwo; and Telemu in Ola-Oluwa Local Government have the necessary infrastructure to thrive.”

Senator Oyewumi, who has been an advocate for infrastructural development across Osun West, also highlighted that "the provision of the transformers would not only improve residential power supply but would also benefit local businesses, schools, and health facilities in those areas."

Community leaders expressed profound gratitude for the senator's generosity and praised the donation as a monumental step toward better living conditions for the residents. “We are thankful to Senator Oyewumi for his unwavering support. These transformers will significantly change our lives and empower our local economy,” they said.

They thanked him for his kind gesture, testifying that it was one out of the flurry of efforts by the PDP senator toward ensuring the provision of the direly needed social amenities to improve the lives of people in Osun West. They vowed to use the facilities provided to them by Sen. Oyewumi for the benefit of the Oke Awo, Ikire, Odo Ori, Iwo Technical College, Iwo, and Telemu in Ola-Oluwa Local Government communities.

The PDP Local Government Chairman in Ìwo while presenting the transformer admonished the recipient residents to reciprocate the kind gesture of Akogun Lere Oyewumi by voting for the Peoples Democratic Party in all elections beginning from the local government elections in February, 2024 through the gubernatorial election in 2026 and the National Assembly, Presidential and state assembly elections of 2027 because according to him "this is the only way to sustain this gale of getting more infrastructural development in our society, warning that no political party can make promises and fulfil it like those elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party that Osun people are enjoying today.
