The Honourable representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has given the elderly people of Ilesa East and West Rice, Gari, other food items and cash as a relief package for the Eid-Al Adha celebration.
Hon. Sanya Omirin also gifted four vehicles to the four local government Peoples Democratic Party in Ijesa South Federal Constituency.

Hon. Omirin also donated a Patrol Van to the Nigerian Police "C" Division of Akad Command, Osogbo road Ilesa.
In his opening speech Hon. Sanya Omirin thanked the people of his federal Constituency for keeping faith with him and the PDP by voting massively for him and all other PDP candidates during the election of 2022 and 2023.

He also hinted that his people should be wary of those who have ruled the state with iron fists without reciprocating their good gestures as committed electorates.


Hon Sanya Omirin said the event of today was mainly for the elderly people of Ilesa East and West Local Government areas leaving Atakunmisa East and West for a later day because of the proximity of their towns to Ilesa township which he said would be stressful to the beneficiaries.


He said PDP is not a political party that fails promises, he cited the Okesa road rehabilitation by the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke who has been fulfilling those promises, coupled with the launching of the flyover bridge at Ilesa Roundabout.


Hon Omirin spoke briefly on some of his sponsored bills in the House of Representatives which include among others:


(1) The inclusion in the 2024 budgets, the Ilesa Township roads that covers Ayeso, Brewery, Odo-Ori roads which was part of projects which he facilitated as his constituency projects, 


(2) Wesley Guild Hospital to be upgraded to the Federal Medical Centre which he said has passed its first and second reading in the House of Representatives. However, he said shortly after the bill passed its second reading, the Methodist Church Nigeria, came to the House of Representatives and raised an objection against the upgrading of the Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre.

He therefore appealed to Ijesa community leaders to plead with authorities of the Methodists Church of Nigeria to let the upgrading scale through because if they miss it now, it may not be made possible again. 

The Osun State Commissioner for Health, Barrister Akinjola advised him to inform the Royal Majesty, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, the Owa Obokun of Ijesa land to intervene in the matter because he is a member of the Methodists Church Nigeria.


He added that in order to ensure that the name of Wesley is retained he has suggested an amendment to the name of the hospital to read WESLEY FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE.

(3) Another motion he raised which has also got the support of his colleagues is the River Oora Channelization which he said works will soon begin on.

(4) Another very important bill sponsored by Hon. Sanya Omirin is Education Security at all levels of education in Nigeria which he said has got National attention, especially in the Northern States and has passed second reading. He said the Education Security will be included in the next year's school curriculum at all levels of education from primary up to the university.


(5) Other bills sponsored by Rep. Omirin are facilitation of several blocks of classrooms in some Schools at Ifewara, Eti-Oni, Oke-Bode, Osu and other towns which he said are already in the 2024 budget awaiting implementation.

(6) The reconstruction and rehabilitation of Iperindo road was also listed among the major roads he has included in the 2024 budget for consideration.


Hon. Omirin therefore pleaded with Osun State indigenes to be patient with the government of the day and warned them against vote buyers who will come once in 4 years to entice them with stipends when election draws near because they have nothing to offer them adding that no reasonable person will change a winning team. Team Ademola Adeleke is winning at all levels and needs to be repeated.



He also promised to fulfill  all his electoral promises very soon to the artisans, barbers,  spare part dealers and all other professionals in Ijesa land who assisted and supported all PDP candidates during the Governorship election of 2022 and other elections of 2023.


The Chairman of the party in Osun State, Hon. Sunday Bisi eulogized the Hon. Sanya Omirin for being a good representative of his people with a good number of developmental bills that have been sponsored by him in the lower chamber of the National Assembly. He added that Hon. Omirin has been doing the biddings of the Governor of Osun State who himself has demonstrated his seriousness in the rapid infrastructural development of Osun State Ijesa land inclusive with the launching of the flyover bridge at Roundabout to Brewery junction many roads rehabilitation at Osu to Iloba, Ogbon Tuntun Ijesa etc.


The representative of the Executive Governor of Osun State, Special Adviser on Political and Allied Matters, Hon. Tunde Badmus delivered the good will message of his Excellency to the people of Ijesa South Federal Constituency. He told the gathering how his Excellency feels about their representative whom he said has been complementing the efforts of the State governor since his election into the house of representatives with various palliative programs which is weekly aired on the radio. 

The governor also assured them that the reconstruction of Ilesa-Osogbo road would soon start. He therefore appealed to Ijesa people to keep supporting the government of the day and all elected and appointed officers of PDP in the state for sustainable development of the state and democracy.

Lase Longe; Special Assistants, leaders, Local Government Chairmen, Councillors; PDP Local Government and Ward Executives among others.
